Welcome to JKJourneys. Here I tell my story with a few of my creations. Some short stories, a few facebook posts created during my travels, and photos taken along the way, topped off with a twenty year list of places I have been. Short Stories & Travel Reviews
I love to write short stories. My imagination can pick up on one word and create a story with people, emotions, laughter and a twist in the end, and wrap it all up in less than 3,000 words. I don't know how I do it, but it's great fun. Click through to read about how the flip of a coin and the Trevi Fountain changed a young woman's life.
Travel Reviews are my non-fiction wrting and a wonderful opportunity to teach the world what is going on in places they want to visit. Non-fiction travel writing leads people where they want to go and provides them with knowledge they need to explore the world. I enjoy sharing my experieinces and preparing people with knowledge so when they travel, they know what to expect and can travel without worry.

Resume
My resume is a list of my duties as Manager of Trent Travel for twenty years. Trent Travel began in 2006 with one small office in Bancroft, Ontario. Over the next six years it expanded to five office in eastern Ontairo. I opened each Branch, hired and trained the staff, marketed the new locations, conducted sales, and successfully grew the business. There are currently three Branches and the business has recoverd from Covid set backs. My duties have been split and absorbed into the company and I am ready to move on to my next phase in the travel industry.

One of my talents is being able to take a photo and add a smart remark, or create a smart remark and find the perfect photo to match it. Add to that, the idea that I think I'm funny and you end up with Facebook posts to grab your attention. Enjoy.
Photographs I've taken along the way
I enjoy taking photos. Through the years, I've taken hundreds of photos when I travel. I use a old hand held Sony camera with a zoom lens. Most of my photos are taken on the fly from a bus window or trucking after a tour guide. I rarely get the opportunity to line up the perfect shot. I have a sense of balance and light, with an eye for a good angle. I've uploaded some of my favourite photos for you to enjoy.
Destinations - my travel history
I took my first all-inclusive vacation in 1999 to the Dominican Republic to a brand new resort that is now a Bahia Principe in La Romana. Since then I have travelled two or three times a year, been to over forty different countries, on seventeen cruises (including river cruises) and six coach tours. My Destinations are listed here by date and connected to the Travel Company or Cruise line.
Social Media Travel Posts
When I travel I take photos and make posts at the end of the day for my family and the few clients that follow me. I wouldn't say that I am a Social Media Influencer by any means. How to Close a Sale is a fundamental skill essential to any profession with a sales component.
Yet many Sales Agents struggle to understand the simple elements involved in the transaction.
They find it hard to read their customer. They miss signals. They fail to learn what the customer wants and in the end lose the sale.
I have developed some simple, straightforward skills that I teach my Agents to help them grow comfortable with thier customers, and build confidence in themselves.
